Go back to earth: go Sensenta!The African Sensenta from Zambia is a walking ritual in the jungle using percussion, dance and storytelling to connect with ancestors and nature spirits. These powers of the jungle are regarded as essential for the well-being and healing of the community and the earth, giving back ‘sense’ to life. Natural elements, like rocks, rivers, trees and animals have their own myth, powers and rights, and are considered as legal persons with sense. Earth losing myth is like a body losing sense(s). To support earth and fight threats which destroy earth and its stories Nemo invites you to experience myth and legends of earth in the theatre, oracle room and nature sanctuaries of Nemoland. Sensenta — walking to the zone of mythNemoland is a no man's land, where ancient stories arise to the surface. Since 1997, Nemo has been collecting myths and stories from her region and indigenous cultures, and portraying them in the theatre, in Machiel's films and during story walks. In and around Nemoland there are power places that are so strongly connected to natural elements and ancestors that they are irresistible. As if those elements are in control, and not the narrator or spectator. Here is a report of those power places with a being that is animating these places and is receiving and distributing their powers. Is it a witch, a norn, baba jaga, Aga, mountain spirit, a herb woman? Or is it someone from your own dreams, something from your childhood? In Nemoland you can find those secrets.
